2008 Reggie Awards^SM

The Reggie Awards^SM, which stand for Registered Builder, were created to recognize outstanding achievement by member builders in the design, quality and value of their homes. Held in conjunction with the Parade of Homes Fall Showcase^SM, participating builders enter their best new Parade Homes^SM in the Reggie Award^SM catagory in our new Awards of Excellence competition.

The entries were divided into single-family and association-maintained homes, and then into price ranges, creating 30 total categories. Armed with comprehensive judging forms, four industry professionals each visited the homes in their category. Judging forms are in a score-card type format, broken down to cover various aspects of the home’s design and construction quality, as well as rating the home’s value. Once all the homes have been viewed, the four judges meet together to review the scores and choose the winning entry. Conferring together, the four judges discuss the merits of each home ensuring that the winner is truly the most deserving.
“The Reggie Award^SM is a highly-coveted prize to local builders,” explains Rick Kot, 2004 president of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities and president of R.A. Kot Homes, Inc., a local building firm. “Winning a Reggie^SM means your toughest critics, other builders, have judged your home to be the best in construction quality, design, and value! And, I was very thrilled to earn one this year."

In 2008, a total of 66 homes were judged. The winners are listed below, from lowest to highest priced. (All prices are based on structure price only.)
