Parade of HomesSM ...The ONLY Tour Presented by the Professional Builder Members of the Builders Association of the Twin CIties

Choosing the right contractor is key to a successful and satisfying home building experience. Builders need to manage a myriad of people and products, as well as interact with your family on a regular basis. They must be ethical, professional, and well-trained to assure you of a job well done.

That’s why you should always rely upon the Parade of?HomesSM as your best new home and remodeling resource. Every home featured on our tours or online at www.paradeofhomes.org is the product of one of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) members.

Builders and remodelers who join our trade association are leaders of the industry and have shown that professionalism is important to them. They have access to the latest information in building science, technology, products, even business management through BATC-University. In just the past year BATC-U brought 43 different classes to 986 students who earned 4,000 continuing education credits.

BATC?members sign an ethics agreement and agree to uphold our minimum quality standards. BATC works hard to keep housing affordable for Twin Cities residents and uses the talents of its members to give back to the community through our charitable arm, the Builders Outreach Foundation. Additionally, should a dispute arise, every BATC member must agree to non-binding mediation, that we arrange for you and your contractor.

Professional affiliation with BATC is where you should start, but remember, before signing any contract, always carefully check the credentials and references of any builder or remodeler. In Minnesota all contractors must be licensed, so contact the Department of Labor and Industry (www.doli.state.mn.us) to ensure their license is current and unblemished. Contact the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) to check for complaints. And definitely call the references that a reputable contractor will provide. Ask their past clients about the contractor’s quality of construction, business practices, and if they would choose to build or remodel with the company again.

Building or remodeling can be a wonderful experience resulting in a home that will make your life more enjoyable for years to come. So remember, the Parade of HomesSM is the best place for you to start shopping. It is...Where Dream Homes Come True®.
