The Builders Outreach Foundation...Making a Difference One Home at a Time
The Foundation’s work in Frogtown has replaced vacant lots and dilapidated housing stock with well-constructed new homes for homeowners who take pride in their residence and their neighborhood. “The City of Saint Paul is thankful that the Builders Outreach Foundation has chosen to bring their work to the Frogtown area,” said St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman. “Now families that otherwise couldn't afford to own are proudly taking care of their new homes and improving the entire neighborhood."
In addition to its work in Frogtown, the Foundation has worked with other local charities and agencies across the region, including Habitat for Humanity and Homeward Bound. These partnerships traded the building community’s expertise for the joy and satisfaction of helping to serve the community.
A dedicated group of Builders Association members form the core of the Foundation’s management, and many more participate through donations of time and money. “We have so many members that give of their personal time to aid the Foundations work,” said BATC’s 2007 President, and Division President of Toll Brothers, Michael Noonan. “I’m proud to be associated with these dedicated and caring people.”
Besides the time and energy of its members, the Foundation’s work is funded in several ways. Since 2001, builder partners for each new home serve as project managers, ensuring each home is well-constructed. These companies, as well as all of their subcontractors and vendors, donate incredible amounts of time and materials to these projects. BATC members also donate truckloads of construction materials and model home furnishings to the Foundation’s annual auction. Held each year in May at Auction Masters in Osseo, the auction has become a popular event for folks to pick up all sorts of new building products, model furnishings and accessories at a great price.
One of their most popular fund-raising programs has been the Parade of HomesSM Dream Home project. Visitors to the fabulous million-dollar homes during the Parade of HomesSM are asked to pay a small $5.00 admission fee at the door during the tours. Last fall the Dream Home program raised almost $50,000 that will go toward building homes for deserving families.
This spring, you can help give the gift of homeownership simply by visiting either of our two incredible Dream Homes for a donation of $5.00 at the door. Just turn the page for information and directions to our two beautiful Dream Homes.
