Builders Association of the Twin Cities Presents the annual Parade of Homes Fall ShowcaseSM
8/27/2007

The annual Parade of Homes Fall ShowcaseSM will begin September 8 and run through October 7, 2007. In its 59th year, the oldest and largest Parade of HomesSM in the country features 843 homes and neighborhoods open to the public from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm, Thursdays through Sundays. Admission to all of the homes is free except for two Dream Homes, Parade HomeSM #82 and #298, where a charitable donation of $5.00 will be requested at the door.

“Today’s new homes are better than ever, and the Parade of HomesSM is the place to find them,” said Michael Noonan, 2007 president of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities. “With the newest technology features, exceptional energy efficiency as well as designs and materials that add durability, beauty and function, choosing a new home is an excellent decision, especially right now.

“During the Parade of HomesSM the entire range of choices in neighborhoods, architecture, floor plans, and finishes are on display to make the ideal shopping experience,” he continues. “So finding the perfect home for your lifestyle, tastes and budget is easy.”

Parade of HomesSM Guidebook and Web site makes touring a breeze It’s easy to plan your personalized tour ahead of time. Start by getting your free copy of the Parade of HomesSM Guidebook, which features every home, at all metropolitan area Holiday Stationstores beginning in late August or at any of the Parade HomesSM during the tour. The Guidebook includes directories that help you choose homes by builder, price, location, even homes that can accommodate wheelchair visitors. And if you want to get even more customized, just head to the internet.

All of the Parade HomesSM models are listed online at the Parade of HomesSM Web site, www.paradeofhomes.org. Use the convenient search engines to find homes by price range, builder and location of course, but you can also select square footage, school district, number of bedrooms, baths and garages. You can also use the key word search to look for specific features or amenities, like bamboo floors or screen porches. All the Parade HomesSM are cross-referenced to individual builder pages that provide additional information about each builder, plus a listing of the builder’s current neighborhoods and price ranges. Links are also available to many of the builders’ own web sites.

You’ll find a quick link to our featured homes, homes with color photographs and virtual tours, as well as the two Dream Homes and homes that have earned ReggieSM and Trillium AwardsSM for excellence. It’s easy to navigate and when you find a home or a builder you may want to see, just save them in your own personal Tour Planner. This feature lets you save your favorites as long as you like, and even make notes for future reference.

New this year, fun and fabulous mini-tours and events

Brand new this year, the Parade of HomesSM features a tour-within-a-tour. This fall we selected 16 homes, and grouped them into three exciting mini-tours to showcase owners’ suites. Dubbed our Soothing Spaces Mini Tour, you can check out the fantastic owners suites on the Elite Retreats Tour (incredible million dollar beauties), EasySuites Tour (condos and townhomes) and Suites Complete Tour (a variety of great single-family homes). You’ll discover what’s hot and fun in bedrooms, baths and closets. Even better, you can indulge yourself at many of these homes at a number of events. Enjoy a chair massage or hand treatment, check out the incredible glass tiles and jewels from a local artist, even hear a local author read from her new book. Details are in the Guidebook as well as online, and you’ll definitely want to register to receive our weekly emails describing all the events for the coming week.
