Facts on 2007 Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM
9/24/2007
• 2007 marks the 20th Annual Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM presented by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities Remodelers council.
• The event will run October 12-14, 2007. This is a unique opportunity to tour 126 actual remodeled homes in 35 communities across the extended Twin Cities metropolitan area.
• Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM homes will be open from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12th and from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, October 13th and 14th.
• Admission is free (except for two Dream Remodeled Homes) to the general public and remodeling representatives will be on hand to answer questions.
• At two fabulous whole-house remodels, the Dream Remodeled Homes, visitors will be asked for a $5.00 donation to the Builders Outreach Foundation, the charitable arm of BATC. All proceeds are used to build homes for families who otherwise couldn’t afford to own a home.
• The 96 professional remodeling firms showcased on the tour are members of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities and its Remodelers council.
• Free copies of the Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM Guidebooks will be available at all metropolitan area Holiday Stationstores. Copies will also be inserted in home delivered metro copies of the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press newspapers on Thursday, October 11th. Guidebooks can also be picked up at any of the 126 remodeled homes on the tour.
• Each remodeling project is also showcased online at www.paradeofhomes.org. Start by clicking on the search engine, Remodeled Homes, to sort through all the homes by remodeler, region and/or project type. Information about the participating remodelers is easily cross-referenced, and the handy Tour Planner, lets you save favorites and make notes about them.
• Virtually every type of remodeling is included in the tour, including 48 kitchen renovations, 45 whole-house remodels, and 27 additions. Other projects include baths, owners’ suites, mud rooms, screened and three-season porches, dens, lower levels, theater rooms, and much more.
• Homes are open in 35 communities across the Twin Cities area. Edina has the most remodeling projects at 25, followed by 23 in Minneapolis and 111 in St. Paul. Visitors can also see homes throughout the region from Ham Lake to Chanhassen to Stillwater.
• The Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM Guidebook features a number of informative articles, including the winners of our 2007 Remodeler of Merit AwardsSM, and an introduction to a new Green certification program called Minnesota GreenStar Certified Green Homes and Remodeling and a focus on several green remodeled projects.
• The Guidebook also launches our exciting new project: Operation Dream Makeover. With the help of BATC’s charitable arm, the Builders Outreach Foundation and WCCO AM Radio, we’ll be renovating the home of an injured Iraqi veteran.
• Free remodeling seminars are offered on Saturday, October 13th (How to Select your Home Remodeler) and Saturday October 20th (Kitchen Workshop) at the Builders Association offices in Roseville. Registrations can be made by phone at (651) 697-1954 or online at www.paradeofhomes.org.
