K.C. Chermak Elected 2008 President of Builders Association of the Twin Cities

The Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) has announced the election of its 2008 President and Board of Directors. K.C. Chermak, president/owner of Pillar Homes Partner, Inc. was elected to serve as the association’s president for 2008. Additionally, a slate of 24 members were elected to serve as the governing body of the association.
Chermak will oversee the activities of the more than 1,800 member trade association that annually sponsors the Parade of HomesSM, with its three new home tours, two remodeling tours, and award-winning on-line resource, www.paradeofhomes.org.
“The coming year will be a challenge as the housing industry begins what may be a long recovery from an overheated market,” says Michael Noonan, division president of Rottlund Homes/David Bernard Builders and Developers, and BATC’s 2007 President. “KC is an excellent choice to help lead our association during this time. His knowledge and enthusiasm for the industry is just what we need during 2008.”
Chermak earned his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the Miami University in Ohio. His career began as a real estate agent in 1987 for a local real estate brokerage. He moved on to become a new homes specialist for Edina Realty, and the sales manager and marketing representative for a local custom home builder. In 1995 he realized his dream to become a home builder and remodeler, opening Pillar Homes Partner, Inc., a custom home builder and remodeler. Since then, Pillar Homes has succeeded in reaching Chermak’s goals of designing and building extraordinary, high-quality homes inspired by his client’s passions. Pillar Homes is currently one of the most in-demand home builders in the western Twin Cities suburbs.
In addition to building a successful home building and remodeling firm, Chermak has become an active member of the housing and real estate industry for a number of years. He served on the BATC’s Communications Committee from 2002 to 2007, when he served as its chair. He has been a long-time judge for several of BATC’s awards programs. And, was elected BATC’s Treasurer in 2006.
“When I was asked to consider running for BATC’s executive leadership, I was immediately interested. The work of the Builders Association is incredibly important, and I was excited to be asked to help lead it, said Chermak. “Over the past two years as Treasurer and then Builder Vice President, I discovered that the more involved I got, the more I wanted to be involved.
“I’m very excited about the coming year for our industry. One of my favorite words is passion. And I will be using my time as President to help our members find their passion in the industry. As we invite and create passion, we will invariably help our clients find theirs as well.”
