Facts about the 2008 Parade of Homes Spring PreviewSM

• In its 60th year, the Parade of HomesSM is presented by Builders Association of the Twin Cities’ members.
• The Parade of Homes Spring PreviewSM features 743 model homes and neighborhoods located in 125 communities across the extended Twin Cities metropolitan area. There are 302 builders and developers participating in the event.
• The 2008 Parade of Homes Spring PreviewSM will include two Builders Outreach Foundation Dream Homes. Visitors to the $2,850,000 Bloomington home and the $2,149,000 home in Stillwater will be asked for a $5.00 donation to benefit the Builders Outreach Foundation, the charitable arm of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities.
• Green is the new black! This spring the Parade of?HomesSM will feature Green building in a big way, starting with our 14-home earth-friendly mini tour. These 14 homes are built to showcase Green building practices, products and design, with many offering fun and informative special events throughout the tour. Additionally, the Guidebook includes plenty of Green articles to help consumers understand this growing concept.
• The Green theme continues with two sweepstakes prizes: a two-year lease on a Chevy Malibu hybrid car from Gould Chevrolet and a vacation to one of the greenest cities in the U.S., Portland, Oregon, from Northwest World Vacations. Registration is available at all Parade HomesSM and online.
• The most expensive Parade HomeSM is priced at $2,950,000. Parade HomeSM #548 is by Stonewood LLC, and located on Loring Drive in Minnetrista.
• The lowest priced home is #49 by S.W. Wold Townhomes, Inc. in Cambridge and priced at $119,900. The lowest priced single-family home is #716, a twin home by Progressive Builders located in Princeton, priced at $152,698. And the least expensive detached single-family home is #692 by Novak-Fleck, Inc. and located in Otsego, priced at $159,900.
• The homes are scattered across a broad spectrum of prices. Seven are priced below $150,000 and 60 below $200,000. There are 144 priced between $200,000 and $299,999; 132 between $300,000 and $399,999; and 118 between $400,000 and $499,999. A total of 454 homes are priced below $500,000, with the most homes priced between $200,000-$249,999 than in any other $50,000 range (81).
• There are 66 homes priced from $500,000 to $600,000; 53 from $600,000 to $700,000; 47 from $700,000 to $800,000; 43 homes that range from $800,000 to $899,999; and 18 homes between $900,000 and $999,999.
• A total of 55 homes are priced over $1,000,000, with 13 of those priced over $1,999,999.
• All but one of the homes priced over $1,000,000 are single-family homes. The other is a detached townhome.
• A total of $395,527,588 dollars in housing is represented in the 2008 Parade of Homes Spring PreviewSM.
• A total of 13 of the 125 cities represented within the region have 15 or more homes open for viewing in the Spring PreviewSM, they are:
