Facts on spring 2008 Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM

• This is the first spring edition of the 20-year old Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM presented by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities Remodelers Council.

• The event will run March 28-29-30, 2008. This is a unique opportunity to tour 69 actual remodeled homes in 27 communities across the extended Twin Cities metropolitan area.

• Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM homes will be open from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28th and from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 29th and 30th.

• Admission is free (except for two Dream Remodeled Homes) to the general publicand remodeling representatives will be on hand to answer questions.

• At two fabulous whole-house remodels, the Dream Remodeled Homes, visitors will be asked for a $5.00 donation to the Builders Outreach?Foundation, the charitable arm of BATC. All proceeds are used to build homes for families who otherwise couldn’t afford to own a home.

• One of the spring Dream?Remodeled Homes is the Operation?Dream Makeover home. This project, by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities, the Remodelers ShowcaseSM, and the Builders Outreach?Foundation has been remodeling the home of injured Iraq War veteran, Kyle Anderson.

• The 56 professional remodeling firms showcased on the tour are members of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities and its Remodelers council.

• Free copies of the Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM Guidebooks will be available at all metropolitan area Holiday StationStores. Copies will also be inserted in home delivered metro copies of the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press newspapers on Thursday, March 27th.

• Each remodeling project is also showcased online at www.paradeofhomes.org. Start by clicking on the search engine, Remodeled Homes, to sort through all the homes by remodeler, region and/or project type. Information about the participating remodelers is easily cross-referenced, and the handy Tour Planner lets you save favorites and make notes about them.

• Virtually every type of remodeling is included in the tour, including 22 whole-house remodels, 12 kitchen renovations plus eight of the 17 additions featuring kitchens, and 12 lower-level finishes. You’ll find baths, owners’ suites, mud rooms and laundries, family rooms, decks and porches, even a sun room.

• Homes are open in 27 communities across the Twin Cities area. Edina and Minneapolis, with nine each, have the most remodeling projects, followed by St. Paul with seven and Woodbury with four. Visitors can also see homes throughout the region from Stillwater to Deephaven, Apple Valley to Shoreveiw, May Township to Carver.

• Free remodeling seminars are offered on Saturday, March 28th (Kitchen Workshop and Green Remodeling and Building) and Saturday, April 5 (Kitchen Workshop and How to Select your Home Remodeler) at the Builders Association offices in Roseville.
