Facts about the 2008 Fall Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM

• The 21st annual Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM is presented by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities RemodelersSM Council and displays the work of 85 of its professional remodeler members.

• The event will run October 10-12, 2008. This is a unique opportunity to tour 133 actual remodeled homes in 35 communities across the extended Twin Cities metropolitan area.

• Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM homes will be open from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10th and from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, October 11th and 12th.

• Admission is free (except for two Dream Remodeled Homes) to the general public and remodeling representatives will be on hand to answer questions.

• At two fabulous whole-house remodels, the Dream Remodeled Homes, visitors will be asked for a $5.00 donation to the Builders Outreach?Foundation, the charitable arm of BATC. All proceeds are used to build homes for families who otherwise couldn’t afford to own a home.

• Free copies of the Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM Guidebooks will be available at all metropolitan area Holiday StationStores. Copies will also be inserted in home delivered metro copies of the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press newspapers on Thursday, October 9th.

• Each remodeling project is showcased online at www.paradeofhomes.org (beginning September 29th). Use the search engine, Remodeled Homes, to sort through all the homes by remodeler, region and/or project type. Information about the participating remodelers is easily cross-referenced, and the handy Tour Planner lets you save favorites and make notes about them.

• Virtually every type of remodeling is included in the tour, including 55 whole-house remodels, 56 kitchen renovations and 52 additions. Other homes feature bedrooms, baths, lower levels, porches, exteriors, garages, laundries, mud rooms, home offices, and more.

• Nine Minnesota?GreenStar Certified or pending certification homes are on display during the tour. MN GreenStar Certified Green Homes and Remodeling is a voluntary, regionally-appropriate certification program. With third-party verification and requirements across a variety of disciplines, MN?GreenStar is providing homeowners an excellent Green choice for remodeling their home.

• Homes are open in 35 communities across the Twin Cities area. Minneapolis, with 30, has the most remodeling projects, followed by St. Paul with 16 and Edina with 13. St. Louis Park and?Minnetonka each have seven, and Plymouth and Chanhassen each have six. Other homes are located all around the region including first ring suburbs (Golden Valley, Falcon Heights, and Roseville), second and third ring suburbs (St. Louis Park, Plymouth, New Brighton, Hopkins and Blaine), and homes are also on tour in the outlying cities of Monticello, Nowthen, and Victoria.

• Free remodeling seminars are offered on Saturday, October 11th (How to use a Purchase and RenovateSM loan and Green Remodeling and Building) and Saturday, October 18th (Kitchen Workshop and How to Select your Home Remodeler) at the Builders Association offices in Roseville.
