Presenting the 2009 Parade of Homes Spring Remodelers ShowcaseSM
3/25/2009

The 2009 Spring Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM is set to run April 3rd, 4th and 5th. The second spring edition of the 21-year-old tour opens with 80 beautiful remodeled homes from 66 remodeling firms, in 33 communities across the extended Twin Cities metropolitan area. Homeowners will find inspiration and ideas to remodel their own homes, while getting a chance to interview professional remodelers about their capabilities, all without obligation.

The homes are open from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday (April 3) and from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday (April 4 and 5). Remodeling representatives will be on hand at each home to answer questions and tell visitors about the project. Admission is free to all with the exception of one Dream Remodeled Home, where visitors will be asked for a $5.00 donation to help fund the Builders Outreach Foundation, the charitable arm of the Builders Association.

“The addition of a spring version of the Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM has been very well received by both our remodelers and the public,” said Jack Williams, 2009 chair of the Remodelers ShowcaseSM committee and owner of J.W. Williams Construction, Inc. “The Remodelers ShowcaseSM has proven to be the very best way for homeowners to shop for a remodeler and get great ideas for their homes. The spring tour connects with a lot of Minnesotans who are ready to look at some alternatives after spending a long cold winter in a home that isn’t as livable as it could be.”

Planning Your Remodelers ShowcaseSM Tour

Everything you need to plan your spring Remodelers ShowcaseSM tour is in the free Guidebook. All 80 homes are featured with a written description, photo or illustration, plus a map and directions to each home. Searching for Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM projects is even easier when you log onto www.paradeofhomes.org. Use the Remodeled?Homes search to create your own personalized tour. You can select homes by region, remodeler and/or project type, and then save your favorites to the Tour Planner which allows you to keep just those homes you’re most interested in, and record notes about each. You’ll be able to take a virtual tour of many of the homes, and link to a personal page about each of the remodelers on the tour, many with links to their own web sites.

Projects on display include 19 whole-house remodels which include three total tear downs and four with additions added; 27 kitchen renovations; 25 additions, eight lower levels, and more. You’ll see remodeled baths, owners’ suites, mud rooms and laundries, family rooms, decks and porches, even a garage. Virtually every aspect of home remodeling is on display! The Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM really allows homeowners to consider the benefits of remodeling their home and the capabilities of a wide range of professional remodelers, all without any pressure or obligation.

“Choosing a remodeler is a lot easier when you can actually see their work and talk about the process,” explains Williams. “At the Remodelers ShowcaseSM you can do both. And with 66 professional remodelers on the tour, you’re sure to find the one that will be just perfect for your project.”

Dream Homes inspire

The 2009 Spring Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM will once again showcase an incredible Builders Outreach Foundation Dream Remodeled Home. It is a beautiful whole-house remodel located in North Oaks by Ispiri, LLC. Visitors to the Dream Remodeled Home are asked to make a $5.00 donation to the charitable arm of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC). All proceeds will go directly to the Builders Outreach Foundation’s work of helping house low-income families.

See Homes All Across the Region

You’ll find Remodelers ShowcaseSM homes in 33 communities across the metro area. Minneapolis features 17 homes and there are 13 in Edina. You can tour six homes in St. Paul and four in Orono. Other homes are located all around the region including first ring suburbs (Bloomington, Golden Valley, Richfield, Roseville and Shoreview) as well as homes in numerous other suburbs from Stillwater to Wayzata, Credit River Township to Blaine, plus plenty in between.

All the homes on display during the Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM will feature a bright yellow and blue site sign displaying each entry’s distinct Remodelers ShowcaseSM number. These numbers correspond to the mapped sections of the Guidebook and web site, and make locating the remodeling projects easy.
