Builders Association of the Twin Cities Presents the 2009 Fall Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM
9/8/2009

The 2009 Fall Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM is set to run September 11, 12 and 13. The 22-year-old tour opens with 94 beautiful remodeled homes from 71 remodeling firms, in 31 communities across the extended Twin Cities metropolitan area. Homeowners will find inspiration and ideas to remodel their own homes, while getting a chance to interview professional remodelers about their capabilities, all without obligation.

This fall’s start has been moved to run simultaneously with the first weekend of the Parade of Homes Fall ShowcaseSM. Visitors can choose to tour remodeled homes, new homes, or both on September 11, 12, and 13th. The two-in-one Guidebook features both new and remodeled home tour guides bound together into one comprehensive book. Another new feature is our newly upgraded Web site to make touring even easier with its interactive map plus lots of other new features.

All of the remodeled homes on the tour are open from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm all three days. Remodeling representatives will be on hand at each home to answer questions and tell visitors about the project. Admission is free to all with the exception of two Dream Remodeled Homes where visitors will be asked for a $5.00 donation to help fund the Builders Outreach Foundation, the charitable arm of the Builders Association.

“All of the remodelers on the tour are excited about the new time frame in coordination with the new home Parade of HomesSM,” said Jack Williams, 2009 chair of the Remodelers ShowcaseSM committee and owner of J.W. Williams Construction, Inc. “We know that families are weighing all of their options and being able to compare new homes and remodeling at the same time will be helpful.

“The Remodelers ShowcaseSM has proven to be the very best way for homeowners to shop for a remodeler and get great ideas for their homes,” he continued. ”And this fall’s combined weekend will expand their options even more so that they can be assured they are making the wisest housing decision for their family.”

Planning Your Remodelers ShowcaseSM?Tour
While the Remodelers ShowcaseSM Guidebook is bound together with the new home tour, it is still its own separate publication with editorial specifically geared to help families thinking about remodeling. All 94 homes are showcased with a written description, photo or illustration, plus a map and directions to each home.

Searching for Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM projects is even easier by logging onto www.paradeofhomes.org. The brand new interactive map pinpoints projects by location, and searches can be fine-tuned by region, remodeler and/or project type. The handy Tour Planner saves favorites for later reference, and a notes area ensures visitors can record what they liked most. Many of the projects link to virtual tours, and all link to a personal page about each of the remodelers on the tour, and on to their own web sites.

Virtually every type of remodeling is showcased on the tour, including 21 whole-house remodels (three are teardowns), 50 kitchen renovations, 28 additions, 20 baths, and 12 lower-level finishes. Other projects include decks, porches and exteriors, owners’ suites, mud rooms, home offices, laundry rooms, and garages. The Parade of Homes Remodelers ShowcaseSM really allows homeowners to consider the benefits of remodeling their home and the capabilities of a wide range of professional remodelers, all without any pressure or obligation.

“Choosing a remodeler is a lot easier when you can actually see their work and talk about the process,” explains Williams. “At the Remodelers ShowcaseSM you can do both. And with 71 professional remodelers on the tour, you’re sure to find the one that will be just perfect for your project.”

Dream?Homes inspire
The 2009 Fall Parade of Homes Remodelers?ShowcaseSM will showcase two incredible Builders Outreach Foundation Dream Remodeled Homes. Both are whole-house remodels, one in Eden Prairie and the other in St. Paul. Visitors to the Dream Remodeled Homes are asked to make a $5.00 donation to the charitable arm of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities. All proceeds will go directly to the Builders Outreach Foundation’s work of helping house low-income families.

See Homes All Across the Region
You’ll find Remodelers ShowcaseSM homes in 31 communities across the metro area. Minneapolis features 19 homes and there are 11 in Edina. You can tour eight homes in St. Paul and six in Eden Prairie.
