Fall ShowcaseSM features lifestyle categories
9/8/2009
The Parade of HomesSM provides a wide variety of search options to aid visitors in locating just the home they want to visit. In addition to location, price, home style, square footage, school district and other typical home search criteria, the Parade of HomesSM offers 15 Lifestyle categories.
Lifestyle Categories include:
Adults Only (age-restricted community)
Amenity rich and designed with your 50-plus lifestyle in mind, that’s what sets these “adults only” neighborhoods apart. Homeowners at these age-qualified communities are able to enjoy all the things they’ve worked for, minus the upkeep and plus the fun.
Affordable Abodes (homes under $250,000)
Just because your price range is in the affordable bracket doesn’t mean you can’t have all the benefits of today’s new homes. Constructed with the most modern materials and techniques, offering exceptional energy-efficiency, safety, and comfort, buying new is a smart investment any way you look at it.
Condo Life (lofts and condominiums)
The only thing today’s condos have in common is a comfortable, safe, and oh-so-easy-to-enjoy lifestyle. You’ll find them from downtown to small towns and everywhere in between; in styles from industrial chic to traditionally classic or an eclectic mix of old and new; from top-dollar penthouse luxury to the perfectly priced first home.
Dual Suites (dual owners’ suites)
Make room for grandma, or a returning-to-the-nest college graduate, or a live-in au pair, or your best friend and roommate. These homes with two bedroom suites are making life a whole lot easier for families who want to stay together but need a little extra breathing room.
Earth-Friendly (registered in a Certified Green program e.g. MN?GreenStar, LEED-H, Energy Star)
The earth-friendly lifestyle isn’t just for vegans (though they love it, too). These homes appeal to the frugal (energy-savings anyone?), the nostalgic (love those recycled drawer pulls circa 1949), and the altruistic (really, you can save the earth if you try).
Family-Friendly?Living (room for families to grow and play)
Raising a family does take a village...plus a home and neighborhood designed to make life easier and more fun. Great schools, romping room outside, and interior layouts that bring families together while offering just enough privacy. This is what makes a family-friendly lifestyle home.
Life is Sweet on EasyStreet Homes (no worries, no maintenance)
Home ownership usually comes with a lot of responsibility. Roofs wear out, windows need caulking, hoses need draining every fall and air conditioning units need to be inspected every spring. Then of course there’s the never ending mowing and shoveling. Join the EasyStreet set and your calendar is wide open for another round of golf or a few extra days in Naples.
Luxury Living (homes, over $1,000,000)
These are the homes we’d all love to live in...and look at. Always popular stops on the Parade of HomesSM, Luxury Living homes are where you’ll find elegant designs, gorgeous materials, and top-of-the-line features. And even if you’re just looking, you may find that perfect feature you can build into your home to make you feel like a million.
Move-in?Now (you can buy this home today)
Why build new from scratch when these fabulous homes are available right now. These display models are your best value in new construction, so why wait?
Par for the Course (golf course community)
What’s not to love about living on a golf course? Views of beautifully maintained swaths of green studded with ponds, trees, and little beaches all summer and a pristine white wonderland in winter. And then there’s the zero travel time for a quick 18-holes.
Pools, Patios and Lakes (lake or pool community)
If water is your element, these are the homes for you. Kids of all ages find a lot to love about water in the landscape, for swimming, skipping stones, a neighborhood hockey game, or even just the perfect place for tranquil reflection. Add in some fabulous outdoor living spaces, and ahhh, even in Minnesota.
Urban Retreats (downtown living)
From the dramatic skyline glittering with high rises to the proximity of everything cultural, downtown living is a lifestyle that is increasingly accessible, even in our traditional corner of the Midwest. These homes allow you to live in the heart of the energy and excitement that mark our beautiful Twin Cities.
Universal Design (designed for all ages and needs)
Universal Design is a concept that spans a wide range of disciplines, growing out of the desire to provide products and features with easier access, function and usability for everyone without compromising on style. ?From the floor plan to the door knobs and everything in between, Universal Design is making a real statement in today’s homes.
Vacation Living (neighborhood amenities galore)
Why wait for vacation to enjoy the lifestyle? Homes and neighborhoods designated Vacation Living offer the very things you leave home for, without leaving home! There’s the park-like terrain and of course, a wide variety of recreational opportunities, no matter what your activity pace.
Wooded Retreat (tree-filled neighborhood)
Dappled sunlight dancing on the lawn, wind whispering through leafy passages, the scent of autumn crunching underfoot, the enchanting silence that only snow-blanketed branches can create. This is the essence of the wooded retreat lifestyle.
