Incredible Before and After Photos Showcase this Dream Home’s Incredible Transformation:
From the beginning, James Barton Design Build shared the family’s desire to maintain the character and charm of their older home, while customizing each space to fit their specific needs and style. To achieve a more thoughtful and updated layout they reconfigured the flow of the home by moving the main staircase.
The result was dramatic. Traffic flow was improved on the main level and the upstairs was altered for the better as well. A gorgeous library nook and desk now greets you at the top of the staircase.
The newly reconfigured space also opened up the main floor and allowed the homeowners to add a mudroom off of the kitchen and rear entry.
Moving the home’s central staircase was a large feat, but James Barton Design-Build Inc. was up for the challenge!
Today, the newly relocated staircase is a focal point of the home.
Despite white cabinetry, the kitchen was dark and dated.
Today, fresh and airy best describes the white gourmet kitchen which provides a dramatic contrast to the dark oak floors. A deep white farmhouse sink complements the other white features in the glistening kitchen.
By fully renovating the home, this family was able to create a new floor plan with features that fit their modern lifestyle.
A lovely powder bathroom is now perfectly positioned off of the main floor kitchen.
While dark wood trim and dim lighting once dominated the home’s aesthetic, today you’ll find bright, airy spaces with sophisticated stylings, including beaded chandeliers, layers of textures, custom window seats, bright white hues and pops of vogue colors.
With the help of James Barton Design Build this family got their dream home, and it’s a dream home for us too! That’s because our charitable arm, the BATC Foundation, has chosen this gorgeous remodel as one of this year’s Artisan Dream Remodeled Homes. We hope it inspires your dreams too when you tour during the Remodelers Showcase: September 30-October 2.
