Remodelers Showcase FAQs
What is the Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase?
The Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase is a scattered-site tour of remodeled homes held in conjunction with the Parade of Homes. Twice a year in the Twin Cities, remodeler members of Housing First Minnesota open dozens of real remodeled homes for people to tour. Details are included in a printed magazine guidebook and online at ParadeofHomes.org.
How much does it cost to tour?
Touring is always free, except for a few homes that are selected by the Housing First Minnesota Foundation as their Remodeled Dream Homes, with a $5 entry fee required. You can also purchase an all-access ticket for $25 each to view all Parade of Homes Dream Homes and Remodelers Showcase Remodeled Dream Homes. Both ticket options are available for purchase online or at the homes. All proceeds help the Foundation build and remodel homes for area families in need.
Why attend the Remodelers Showcase?
Originated in the mid-1980s, the Remodelers Showcase has long been a great way for homeowners to “shop” the real work of area remodelers. Since most of the projects remodelers complete are lived-in homes, allowing prospective clients the unique opportunity to actually tour their projects is a challenge. And deciding on a remodeler by looking at a photo portfolio just isn’t the same.
How can I stay updated about the Remodelers Showcase?
The ParadeofHomes.org website is where you’ll find dates for upcoming tours, resources about the remodeling process, and a comprehensive list of professional remodelers to help you choose the right one for you. You can also sign up for our monthly newsletter and follow us on social.
Who remodels the homes featured on the Remodelers Showcase?
Every home on the tour is remodeled by a remodeler member of the Housing First Minnesota, a trade organization representing area builders, remodelers and industry suppliers with the mission of homeownership opportunities for all Minnesotans.
Where can I find out more about the remodelers?
All of the remodelers with homes on the tour are easily searched online at ParadeofHomes.org in the Remodeler search. Filters help select the right remodeler, while links between their recent Showcase Homes and their company website make sure you have all the research material you need.
When can I tour the Remodelers Showcase?
The Remodelers Showcase is the final weekend of the spring and fall Parade of Homes. In spring, the tour will usually be the final weekend in March or the first weekend in April. In fall, it will fall on the fourth weekend after Labor Day. Homes are always open three days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m.
What if I’m not ready to remodel?
We believe people should have the information they need to make the best choices for their needs — and there’s no better way to discover all about remodelers and their capabilities than on the Remodelers Showcase. Additionally, newly remodeled homes are where you can see the latest in style and design — and our remodelers love to show off their “art”.
Where can I get information about the homes on the tour?
Free, printed guidebooks are available beginning a month or more before each tour in racks at regional Holiday Stationstores and Kowalski’s Markets. The guidebooks include information about all of the homes on tour, plus interesting articles and an extensive style section showing off the latest décor items. The guidebook is available at ParadeofHomes.org in e-magazine format, too. And of course, ParadeofHomes.org is your online resource with everything in the guidebook plus many more filters and resources to make touring fun and easy; and to bring you valuable information year-round.
Can I plan my tour online?
Yes! Our online Tour Planner is now even easier to use. Just use the heart-shaped favorite button to collect the homes you want to see. You can create a tour right away from your selected homes using the Tour Planner link, whether on your desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
