Housing is everything for those in need of secure and dignified shelter. Each visit to a Dream Home on the Parade of Homes and Remodelers Showcase can help someone out of homelessness.
Each tour, Dream Homes are chosen for their high levels of craftsmanship, intricate design details, and ability to inspire every visitor who walks through their doors.
Dream Homes support the Housing First Minnesota Foundation and their work to build and remodel transitional housing for veterans, people with disabilities, and mothers in recovery who are experiencing homelessness. Dream Homes require an admission fee from each visitor which supports the mission of the Foundation. So far, the Foundation has completed 60 build projects with a total of 94,000 square feet of dignified housing, and, in turn, created room for 192 shelter beds for people in need of housing.
The Foundation partners with nonprofits that need additional capacity to house people experiencing homelessness. They then tap the talents and resources of member builders, remodelers, suppliers, and volunteers to build, renovate, or repair shelter housing facilities in the Twin Cities.
Housing For Heroes – New construction homes that provide veterans with stable transitional housing while they receive support to overcome housing, employment, and legal barriers.
Family Recovery Housing – Remodeled apartment units that provide mothers recovering from substance dependency a transitional space where they can heal and have a healthier life while living alongside their children.
