In honor of our 75th anniversary, we're excited to announce our limited-edition beer with Bauhaus Brew Labs!
“Ope’n Haus” is our limited edition hazy pale ale, created exclusively for this milestone anniversary. It offers a blend of floral and tropical flavors, with hints of orange and clementine.
For 75 years, the Parade of Homes has played a pivotal role in Minnesota’s housing market, guiding families in their homebuying process, and turning dream homes into reality. The name of the signature brew reflects the low-pressure, open house-style tours the Parade of Homes is known for — with a little Midwestern flair!
The collaboration will be celebrated at the “Ope’n Haus” launch party on Sept. 7, from 4-10 PM, where the first kegs of the home tour-inspired hazy pale ale will be tapped! Festivities will include live music, giveaways, and food from the popular vendor Animales Barbeque Co. The launch party is open to everyone, so bring your friends! It will be a night to remember.
The brew is made with Citra, Amarillo, and Mandarina Bavaria hops. Each — especially Mandarina Bavaria — delivers notes of citrus, so when it hits your tongue, it will burst with a bright orange flavor. A combination of bitter and sweet, the soft citrus flavors are perfect for a night out with friends.
The beer begins as barley, featuring wheat and oats. This protein complex create the beautiful haze you look for in a hazy pale ale. After milling, the barley is steeped in hot water to extract the sugar and proteins. It is then boiled in a large kettle and whirlpooled to separate the solids and liquids. Throughout the boiling and whirl-pooling process, the brewers add in the unique mixture of Citra, Amarillo, and Mandarina Bavaria hops.
The brew is then sent to a tank, where yeast is added before it ferments for 10-12 days. After it is properly fermented, it is put through a machine called a centrifuge, which spins any extra solids to the side, leaving the beautiful golden brew we’ve come to know and love.
“Ope’n Haus” will be available for purchase in the taproom at Bauhaus Brew Labs starting Sept. 7, as well as in Haskell’s and Top 10 Liquors starting the week of Sept. 4.
