These lucky homeowners finally found and purchased the home of their dreams. Well, sort of. It had plenty of timeless mid-century charm, but not a lot of functionality. Room sizes were an issue as well. The goal? Honor the original character while offering modern comfort and flow. We did that with a more functional open-concept design and by preserving key elements such as the terracotta tile and oak trim. We added red oak flooring, clear walnut cabinets, and Cambria countertops in the kitchen and pantry, and a new paint main floor color theme; a custom vanity and slat wall for the ensuite bath, a revitalized laundry and a new dog washing station, and more maple cabinetry in the downstairs level to round out the gym facility. The result is a comforting blend of mid-century modern charm and contemporary functionality.
